However, the rainy season especially during May, June, July and August is another also quite favourable if you’re looking for some adventure. Surfing in Costa Rica is fun for anyone. Here are some basic recommendations for surfing. The Northern Pacific Coast is the biggest and the most popular destination during the peak season. There are strong offshore winds that combine with swells to bring the breakers into perfect form. The Central and Southern Coasts are best between May and November. The Caribbean Coast is best between November and March. The best way is to pick one town and use it as a base and then explore the surfing hotspots nearby. Explore only those that are less than an hour drive away for maximum surf time.
