Who is behind Costa Rica Information Website?

My name is François Painchaud, and I divide my time between my 2 passions: traveling across Latin America and learning more on the Internet & SEO.

It might seem a strange combination to some, and if anyone told me I would be putting up a website on Costa Rica travel, I would laugh right on their face even three years back. Yet that is exactly what I am doing today, and I will tell you why.

I consider myself fortunate to be working in the field of IT in those heady days of the early 1990s. It was the profession to be in at that time, and we witnessed the great Internet revolution unfold dramatically before our eyes.

In 1998 I was working with the Linux OS as a server and network manager when the temptation to set up on my own company proved too difficult to resist. I quit my job, formed my own company, and started to offer Internet strategy consulting to small and medium Canadian enterprises.

Soon we diversified and went into a lot of different areas. We started setting up websites, hosting data, designing software and implementing all kinds of software solutions. In short, we touched nearly every corner of the Internet, serving a diverse range of industries and business sectors. More then 400 successful projects were delivered.

But a visit to Latin America added a completely new dimension to my life. I was hooked! I successfully sold my company to investors and have traveled across the length and breadth of Latin America for well over a year now. On the way I did some thorough research and gained some understanding of what makes these countries tick.

This website is a way to share my experiences with you.
